Leah Gidney

Leah Gidney is a Canadian artist and illustrator based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. With artistic beginnings reaching back into early childhood, some of Leah's first creative insights were born largely from watching her father, an artist and signpainter, working away in the signshop on the Gidney family property in Chilliwack, B.C. Leah's work has always been characterized by an abundance of colour and whimsical interpretations of the world around her. Leah's main focus in creating art is to always remain true to her philosophy as an artist: Create what makes you happy.

Leah's work is produced out of a small workshop in East Vancouver. There, she happily paints by the fireside in the company of her partner in crime, Jordan Eisenhauer, who is the creative force behind the handcrafted wood frames for Leah's pieces. Together, Leah and Jordan choose the wood that best compliments each painting-a fun and satisfying finishing to a project!
